Places to visit in Sylhet

Sylhet is famous for shrines. Another saint is  Shah Poran whose shrine eight km far from town. Sylhet became pure land due to their steps on this places.

Jaflong – A Phenomenon View of India, Jaflong is one of the most attractive tourists spot in Sylhet that a scenic spot nearby tea gardens, rear beauty of opposite hilly view stone collection from river. Scenic view is awesome. It is near Mari river at the leap of Khasia hill. This river is coming from Himalya, India where stone and boulders come with flowing water. You can also enjoy boating in Piyan river.

Tamabil is the border area with India and about five kilometres far from Jaflong.  Once Jaintapur was the capital of Jainta kingdom in eighteenth century. There was a king house of Jainta king here adjacent to Jainta Bazar.  Many big stones of thirty feet by twenty feet are here on which judges sat to judge once upon a time.

White Block Stone and Only Vast Swamp Forest in Bangladesh

Ratargul Swamp forest is near adjacent to India in Sylhet district. This is only vast swamp forest in Bangladesh. In this forest half of the trees go under water in rainy season. It feels like Amazan forest when you enter the canals by boat. This is very interesting and thrilling place for adventurous tourists. In dry season, there is less water. Yet you can travel by boat. Because authority made canals for rowing boat. During dry season, another facility is you can walk under trees inside the forest. This forest is alike Sundarban.

Bisnakhandi, is a fantastic place which shows distance green hill, waterfall and water of steam in India. This place is a bed of Indian hills where water is coming from India. To reach there, you need about 30 minutes boat riding by engine boat. While boating you can see countryside and lifestyle of local people. After reaching there, you can enjoy the view and walk around.

Pantumai is a place where a vast amazing waterfall and hilly green beauty. This waterfall is in India. You can see from Bangladesh.  

Sadapathor is similar to Bishnakhandi. Comparatively Sadapathor is worthy to visit. It is better than Bisnakhandi.

National Park and a Blue Water River in Bangladesh

Lalakhal a river of blue bright water is so clean to see the bottom. You can travel by engine boat. It takes 20 minutes to reach there by boat. The main purpose of this visiting is that you can see only one blue water river of Bangladesh. Here is also Indian border.

Khadim Nagar National Park is a forest protected by Bangladesh government with its area 6 square kilometers and 678.80 hectors. It was declared as national park in 2009. This is a reserved forest surrounded by tea gardens. Distance from Sylhet town is 15 kilometers.

Less Visited Tourist Places in Sylhet

A cave in the hill which is still uncommon to visit for fear as it is the most dark. It is for adventurous tourists. In Sylhet tour, you can visit the cave where Gour Govinda fled himself. This cave is a hidden path under ground to escape.

Chatok is famous for orange garden. This tour is for nature visitors.

Temple: There are more places to visit. A famous temple of 500 years old is 45 km from town. This is reserved for being the ancestral home of famous Vaishna monk. A yearly fair is held on the full moon day of Bangla month Falgoun. Hundreds of devotees attend the fair. Gouro Govinda fort is used as MC college a beautiful surrounding on the hill top. The remains of the fort stage to the northwest of college.

Sunamgonj Wetland for Boating
