Itinerary of Chittagong City Tour
- Receive at 6 am, (If you want to make photography the early morning is obviously perfect time. If not photography, you can start at 9 am). Our tour operator or local tour guide will receive you from your hotel or airport in Chittagong. You can change time too.
- Fish market, by reserved car, we will drive to the biggest fish market of Bangladesh. This is the only biggest fish market in Bangladesh. There are sea fish and river fish sale here. Here fish is sold in whole sale price to send to other cities of the country. It is a good place for photographers. But it is a over crowded place. You may consider it to visit it or not.
- Fishing ghata, this is a good place where you will see many wooden fishing sea boats. These boats are in use for catching fish. After doing their work, they anchor here.
Main Port City of Bangladesh
- Ship breaking yard, we continue to ship breaking yard which is at the sea shore in Chittagong. There are high tide and low tide for the visiting. Depending on it, we continue this visit. Visiting also depends on permission. If the situation is positive, we will take engine boat to visit the sea side and you can see ship breaking yard from far being in the boat. We can not go close because it is not allowed and risky too. Tourists can not go inside the boat to see the daily work or condition of the ship. It is possible to see from your boat in the sea. These ships are old ones to cut and break them here. Parts of them are sold in the city. We can spend time here for 1 hour.
- (Subjects to permission) Though permitted, you can not use drone to take photo and can not go to very close. You will see the ship breaking yard from your boat very far.
- Ship Materials, we will visit shops selling parts of the broken ship. Used parts and materials of the ship are available in this area for sale. You can also skip this visit if you do not like it.
- Oldest Building, Later we will visit British colonial building, here you can see the oldest buildings built in the British period. These buildings belong to Bangladesh government. It will remind you the British period. At railway station, we will see them. These buildings are used by government rail station.
- Just after visiting this place, we can have lunch in any local restaurant or on your choice.
Lunch Break – Eat at a local Restaurant
- After lunch, we move to salt production center. Some businessmen produce salt at the sea shore. The laborers collect salt from sea side and keep in their store. We can see here life of day workers. Salt is also refined here at some salt factory.
- World cemetery, We will go to the second world war cemetery to visit the place.
- Oldest Mosque / Saint Place, you can visit the oldest mosque in Chittagong city. There is a Muslim saint place in which there are 1000 years old turtles in the pond.
- Finish: after this visiting, Our guide will take you to your hotel or drop off at the airport in the town if you need to fly back. At 5/6 P.M, the trip ends.
